My Experience

I was so excited to try this probiotic. I have been looking for the perfect probiotic and this is indeed, NO EASY TASK. Raw probioics for women is also a multi-vitamin, so I was even more hopeful that it would be a hit, rather than a miss. I started having suspicions that it would cause some trouble when I read the label. It contains an Eastern European RAW Fruit & Veggie Blend that includes Cherry, Carrot Root and green pea. I have a difficult time with all of these. Having Fructose Malabsorption makes it difficult to consume many fruits and veggies. I also noticed the dairy in this product. Although it does contain dairy digesting enzymes, I try to stay away from dairy as much as possible.

I took this probiotic for one month, three times a day as suggested. I noticed right away that it did not help with gas/flatulence troubles. Even after one month, it did not help in this area. What it did do, and do very well, was act almost as a laxative. It caused very loose bowels. It continued to do this the entire time that I took it.

Although I have great respect for Garden of Life and the Raw Probiotic Line, for myself I found that it does not quite work for me. Fructose Malabsorption makes it difficult to find supplements that are agreeable and just because this Raw Probiotic did not work for me, does not necessarily mean that it is not right for you.

If you are inclined to try Raw Probiotics please do. Be sure to post your experiences below. Also, if you have tried Raw Probiotics please let me know what you think in the comments section below.

  1. Thanks for the post. I start taking probiotics for my ph balance which was driving me crazy. I decide to buy garden of life for my gastrointestinal tract I think both go hand in hand. You can also make your own Probiotic & Enzyme Salad is essentially raw sauerkraut and is made with green cabbage, miso paste or sea salt, and optionally flavor add-ons like ginger or carraway seeds. The raw, cultured veggies that are chopped and sealed in airtight containers for a few days. Sealing and storing the cabbage creates an environment for lactobacilli and enzymes in the vegetables to flourish, creating a probiotic-rich food. Pretty cool, right? Cabbage in itself has natural probiotics, is packed with vitamin C, and has natural cleansing properties. I think this would be a great alternative since you have Fructose Malabsorption.
